Rupture of gluteal tendons in chronic trochanteritis
Following the clinical assessment, a persistent lack of strength in the right hip flexor muscles is detected, which is accentuated by activities such as going up and down stairs, walking in the mountains, and getting up from a deep chair. or sofa.
Given the suspicion of injury to the tendons of the gluteal muscles, it was decided to order an MRI of the hip, which confirmed the tearing of these tendons at the level of their insertion into the trochanter.
The absence of clinical improvement and the diagnosis revealed by MRI recommend repairing the tendons by suturing them to the bone.
This procedure was performed using bone anchors and required a time of unloading of the hip for 5 weeks through the use of two crutches and a physiotherapy time of approximately 4 months until complete functional recovery of mobility and strength of the hip.
